Wedding Ceremonies At The Town Hall

The Town Hall is licensed for registration officers to conduct Civil Wedding Ceremonies. In addition, you may choose to hire the whole Corn Exchange and Town Hall complex for your special day - so that the ceremony and reception are at the same venue.

For your wedding to take place in the Town Hall, you must have two Registration Officers present for the ceremony. You may provisionally book their attendance up to 12 months prior to your wedding date.

Wedding w

To do this, you must attend in person at Newbury register Office, Peake House, 112 Newtown Road, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 7RX. Arrangements can be made by contacting Mrs A. Pearce, Superintendent Registrar, on 01635 48133.

Please remember that without this booking, your wedding cannot take place.

You will have to pay an attendance fee for the Registrars, and you may wish to pay in advance for your marriage certificate.

Only civil, non religious ceremonies can be permitted, and any music, readings, words or performances forming part of the ceremony must be secular. The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar.

It is your responsibility to ensure that all legal preliminaries to your wedding are completed, and that Registration Officers are available to conduct your ceremony. Neither the Town and Manor nor anyone else can do this for you!
