The Trustees of the Town and Manor have the responsibility of running the Town and Manor along with four committees: The Commons Committee, responsible for managing all areas of land, including the Common Port Down and Freeman’s Marsh. The Fishery Committee, responsible for managing The Fishery. The Buildings Committee, responsible for the Town Hall, Corn Exchange, John o’ Gaunt Inn and the water-keeper’s house. The 2013 Election of Trustees of the Town and Manor of Hungerford: The last election for the 10 Trustees was held on 1st May 2013. There were 13 nominations. The successful candidates were: Barbara Barr 223; Tyrell Bossom 166; Anthony Buckwell 130; Dennis Cryer 161; Gregory Furr 195; Stewart Hofgartner 213; Robert James 160; Caroline Lumley 148; Bruce Mayhew 140 and Christopher Scorey 148.
